laughing on the way.

fridays are my days with my niece, ella. this past friday we walked down to our neighborhood park. owen seems to enjoy the swing quite a bit, and this week ella wanted to push him. this was the most i've heard him laugh, and it was for his cousin! so stinkin' cute.

rollin', rollin', rollin'.

owen rolls!

he has it down pat. did it for the first time, and has been rolling like crazy ever since! as the video demonstrates, he's always very pleased with himself. but once he realizes he has gotten himself "stuck" on his belly, he let's us know he's over it. i'm hoping learning to roll from belly to back soon follows.. ;-)

a couple of pictures from the last week or so..

my unblogged summer.

i find it rather difficult to keep up with this blog and my photography blog.

i've left so much unblogged about our summer. our hot, hot summer. (kc was in a tie for 6th place for hottest/hotter than normal summers this year)

owen experienced so many fun and new things in his first few months of life. colby and i celebrated our 3rd anniversary. we spent a weekend at the lake of the ozarks with our friends. colby (with some help from an electrician, framer, and his dad) finished half of our basement. i turned 25. owen attracted visitors: my mom was here for 2 weeks after he was born. my dad and brother visited for a few days, as well. sarah, lucy, jamie, and gavin came to visit for the first time since i've been in kc. colby, owen, the dogs, and i spent some time in indiana. owen and i also spent some time at lake michigan with my family.

it really was an amazing summer. but i certainly will not shed a tear to its departing weather this year. can fall stay forever?

i'll try to post soon with pictures of our new basement. i need to get them from my camera. in the meantime, i'll leave you with a completely unrelated video of owen. just a little coo'ing, a little squealing, and a lot of cuteness. he's looking so big, no?

owen's swim gear.

after introducing owen to the water, we decided he needed to have the appropriate attire for the rest of our summer. because after all, being dressed for the occasion makes it much more enjoyable! here he is ready for some sunshine and pool time.

owen had a good amount of pooltime this summer. and with the exception of his very first dip, he loved every last one of them. sadly, labor day marks the end of pool season. but we're looking forward to next summer to get him in the water again - should be lots of fun!
