Happy #60, momma.

We all sang "Happy Birthday" and blew out the candle in honor of Grandma who would be celebrating 60 years today.

In years past, most of her birthdays were spent with the whole family together - often ending a day of Christmas shopping with dinner at an Italian chain restaurant in Indianapolis with extended family, including my Uncle Bruce and Eddie who usually had just arrived for their annual trip to Indiana for the holidays from San Francisco. Some years she'd have to work, and would just meet right after work at Bravo or Buca or Olive Garden or Johnny Carinos, still dressed in her hospital scrubs.

Marathon shopping, Italian food, and most important of all: her family.. brother and sister and nieces and nephews and husband and children. All in one place. It was her perfect day.

My mother-in-law brought me this sweet bundt cake today to work. I set it aside to share with the kids tonight for a proper celebration. The kids were all more than happy to share this cake in her honor tonight. ;-) Happy birthday, momma!
